A Look at the Week Ahead

Math:
Since this is the last week of school, we will be reviewing math concepts through games and achieving 100% fact mastery in Reflex.
***Memorization of multiplication facts is a third grade standard. Please use these each night to help them memorize their facts. ***
Reading/ELA:
· ELA: The only way to become a better reader is to read. We will be having a ton of reading time this week to help us grow into excellent readers!
Poetry: Concrete (shape) poems
Spelling: No more spelling tests!!
***Thank you for allowing your child to send in books for our class book swap. It was a huge success!***
Social Studies:
How does the economy have to do with me?
We are studying economics this week. Students will be learning the meaning of economics and how it effects them. One of the activities that we will be doing to discuss supply and demand will be our classroom book swap.
Students can access their social studies text through estudiesweekly.com
Science:
What are the different forms of energy? Can we create our own energy?
We are learning all about energy. One of the things that we will be doing is learning how friction can create heat energy.
The class is very excited about our bearded dragons. The class as named our bearded dragons Lizzy and Toothless! Thank you so much for helping us get a class pet! Pictures coming soon!!
I believe that fun is an essential part of learning and this will be a fun week.
Working together we will have a great year.
